Default Smaller sized low-priced player with SD card slot + aaa battery?

I have a player I like for recording and it sounds good (Insignia Pilot) and now looking to get a smaller one for better portability. I could care less about video (do need screen for audio info though) and need one that has SD card slot, uses a AAA battery (preferably) and is :

Low priced

Good sound

fm tuner

Equalizer

Nice feel in hand

* Not concerned about recording features or internal storage since would be using sd card for playback only -or- listening to fm (am/fm would be a plus)

How low can you go? Also why limit your choices just to get a player that has a AAA battery.

There have been a number of posts recently wanting aa/aaa battery and/or SD card players. Without re-reading them, I believe the bottom line of those posts has been the Insignia Pilot.

Good luck finding something else.

DAPs with regular batteries are rare - you may find an old model somewhere.

Well I thought AAA batteries might be good because I could carry a spare one with me outdoors and not have to worry about re-charging. But it's not that important to come to think of it so disregarding that are there any suggestions that meet my needs as stated in the OP, Thanks again

The only thing that's low-priced, records, with an SD slot is a Creative Zen.
With an microSD slot there is the Sansa Fuze- also low-priced.
Edit: I see you're not bothered about recording. Both the Sansas are good.

Gawd, can we give this subject a rest??? Search the forums, all the answers are already there. Seems new members don't bother to do that at all anymore.

The Sansa forums are even worse

I mean, I know we're here to help each other, but at least search and stop being so redundant w/all the threads of the same topic. It's been covered how many times, and there's nothing that's changed - except it's now HARDER to find 1 of these obsolete, battery toting, ecology destroying little players.

Thanks, I'm trying to find a cheap Zen 2gb. Searched google and seen they were actually selling them for $17.99 a few mths back as either discontinued and/or refurbished. Would love to get one like that.

I think the 4GB is more common - you've probably got a better chance of finding one of those, still quite cheap.

No display though, and sound quality is much worse than the Clip or Fuze.
