I got an iphone3gs (not 4 ), but I'm still using my good ol'walkman a729. I'm trying to convince my dad to let me get the X, which is what I've been wanting since day one of hunting for PMPs, but, :/

Hold out for the new A Series, as the SQ is the same as the X, but the useless features are (somewhat) removed. I had the X, sold it. It's a great sounding device, and the tactile controls make it work - but the full tactile Sony DAP's RULE!!! I'll sell my touch 64gb once it's in the states,.......

Truth be told, my son needed the money and was going to sell it to someone - so he gave it to me when I gave him the dough ($$$). I ended up w/a touch that way.

Still, even w/somewhat decent SQ, it's an OK device. My Sony definitely sounds better, same w/the D2 and especially now RB'd Fuze. All in all, I wish it had better volume and just treble & bass adjustments - that would solve the SQ issue IMO.

Also i noticed that the screen was flickering lightly when displaying grey or white background.Does anyone have this problem?

No dust under my screen so far, but from day one I had already feared this problem because of the A840's frameless glass design. Unless the adhesive used between the glass and the body is completely sealing, dust might be inevitable.

Well ebay has the 64gb for 450 or so, but that is too much. Is there like a retailer from Japan that ships to the US because the most I'd pay for it a 64gb model is at most 350usd.

32GB in Singapore is S$469.00
16GB more for $90.00
ergo, 64GB would cost S$649.00
(465CHF = 600SGD approx)You guys do have it better already...Not as bad as the X series, though.

32GB = S$699

I think the biggest culprit has to be the earphones. Every Sony player with EX earphones since the A800 has commanded a hefty premium over the competition, and you're right the NC doesn't help...
