P3 "Memories" Special Edition

This confirms death for the P3, as a similar thing happened to the P2 when Samsung released a "special edition" P2 (just like now) and after a few weeks stopped updating the P2's firmware (just like now, again), and then proceeded to announce the P3.

Figured this would happen. The newer players took higher priority in the minds of Samsung's developers.
Could someone give us a translated overview of some of the new features? And it looks like it has a different UI...

What the hell? If there was going to be a 'special edition', why sell the normal one? They better have some of that stuff in the firmware...If there is one. Ahhhh, I have a P2 but I've never heard of the P2 special edition or whatever...I feel like I've been cheated in my purchase...

I don't think there's much difference between regular P3 and P3 memories from reading the article.
Available in solid black and magenta pink, 8GB only. 500 mp3 songs included selected by MNet Music Experts 180 mp3 Karaoke-abled songs I'm not sure if this feature is in P3, but P3 memories is supposed to have a feature called 'wise volume,' which lowers your P3's volumes automatically after you listen to the music for certain period of time. Other than that, all those graphical pictures are Korean ways of introducing their products, nothing much.. like 'share a glass of memory, share unspoken words, etc..' lol I suppose they made this version to sell during Korean Thanksgiving. Korean kids get easily get over $100 during this time for bowing to elders; parents, grandparents, uncles, aunties.. go figure. Depending on how old you are, they give you $10~100 usually each.

The regular P3 does have the 'wise volume' feature. Mine has it, I think it was added in 2.14 firmware. But I am pretty sure the way this works is lowering the volume automatically to healthy levels.

This version is supposed to be for parents and grandparents who likes big fonts. Those 500 songs include old folk songs from 70-80s as well as acoustic songs that the adults love. Samsung and LG sells cell phones with bigger buttons and large UI versions for elders. Korean Thanksgiving is one of the time of the year when electronic devices sell well.

I told the Korean manager people want another good firmware for P3 like the 2.07 but I don't know if they will release one...To many new products to care on

There will be no P4 as far as I know (I remind you I'm a Samsung Insider
) The M1 is the logical successor of the P3 and is rather what the P3 should have been.Anyway, what would the P4 have been compared to the M1? The same with the P3 design? It doesn't make sense! In 2010 there should be at least one Wifi Samsung mp3 player. But no reason to call it "P4". It will be either M2 or a new letter.
