One of my as-is Fuzes that I've mentioned in two other threads had a screen that was frozen white with a blotch of reddish black. It is a v1 and I tried to update the firmware to 1.02.26, just as I had updated the firmware in the v2 with a white screen to 2.02.26. (See White screen on 4 GB Fuze, a thread I started a few hours ago.)
This time, though, the attempted update turned the Fuze into a brick that shows no signs of life whatsoever. So now I have another "dead" Fuze. But unlike the others, the death of this one is from a known proximate cause and I also know that the LCD, at least, is bad and presumably not salvageable. Is there any way of recovering from such a firmware update failure? If not, I'll have to consider this one a lost cause and just salvage the battery and the front panel. |

You can not recover from a failed firmware update.
Did the Fuze shutdown itself after upgrade ? |

Since the screen was bad anyway, is there anything besides the battery and case parts that's worth recovering? |
