I almost dislike the P3 now. Sometimes its shortcomings don't seem worth the excellent sound and video quality. It seems that every time I try to put music or video on it with any media program (like media player), it will shut off and restart a few times before i can put anything on it. Another problem i have with it is that it will freeze and turn off when i skip through songs on the main music screen and on the lower mini-player. Does anyone have any solutions/similar problems?

another problem is that sometimes when i push the hold button the hold icon will appear, but it will not actually be in hold. This thing is one of the most buggy PMPs i've ever used.

Return it. You must have a faulty one if it's playing up like that.

I haven't had any problems with my P3. I'd return it like Dreamnine said.

why are you even trying to put media on it with a media program? Have you never heard of the wonders of drag an drop / copy paste. dunno bout the hold button. mine works great

I'm having both these problems on the 2.18 firmware, wasn't there with 2.20 but 2.20 had problems with video playback sometimes.

I'm going to try a complete reformat.

Well a reformat (Done reset too) seems to have solved all the problems I have been having!

Seems to be overall better and more responsive (a little touch).

Try updating the firmware or reformatting it.

If that doesn't work, then you'd have to return it.

It's great other than the occasional complete freeze/reset.

Well she's died totally today, stuck on boot screen and nothing seems to be fixing it (reset etc).

Taking it back to the shop, hopefully I can get a nice new working one again.

It's so annoying, you take the best of care and still it breaks!

It seems it has been slowly dying over the last few weeks, getting worse.

Edit:

Added a screenshot of the problem on boot... Have to find a pin and hit the reset button to turn it off/connect to USB.

Totally broken minus USB .

Hope my next P3 has upgraded hardware or something, unless I just got unlucky!

I feel lost already without it, got a ipood temporary for now which I have borrowed, UGHHHhhhh....

It's like Mission Impossible - they have a self-destruct mode after 6 months to force you to buy an M1 or something.

Going to get the S9 or something. Want to have the same great sound quality while being able to use applications while listening to music. I also would like more than 8GB.

I doubt I will get another Samsung MP3 player, or phone, lack of quality Firmware updates and lack of support in general, a shame because I've normally always been a fan of their products.


I use my MP3 players a lot, and want more "features" so happy to pay the extra.

Edit: Seems the S9 might also not play music while using applications... Oh well, I'll keep looking at it still and others.

Get an S9 or an X (quite a bit cheaper for the 16GB).

i have a rant. in videos they have on-screen volume. how freakin hard is it to do the same thing for music.
