I don't have a Fuze V2, but I just have to say thanks for all of the people that have been waiting for this. Rockbox is just amazing.

I just got a Fuze v1, but I know it will eventually die and my chances of getting a v1 will go down in the future. I'm very happy to hear v2 support is progressing so well. I no longer buy mp3 players unless they support Rockbox! (Proud owner of an e280 v1, e250R v1, two v1 Clips, and a Fuze v1.)

Well, it works pretty damn well. No settings can be saves since write support isn't implemented OS side, but dear me: gapless, AAC, ALAC! and a good EQ and decent navigation system make me so happy. My Fuze can finally be used and its grain and hiss which usually put me waaaay off, are hardly issues anymore.

What're the odds of us getting a pre-compiled bootloader for the V2 any time soon? My Clipv1 died (damn battery terminals), so I'm looking at taking the opportunity to upgrade. The chances of me getting a V2 being pretty good, I'd be disappointed with no Rockbox.
I'm willing to accept the risk (as I've done in the past, but especially if I have a 30-day warranty ), except I'm horrible at compiling from source... which is also to say I can never find it on rockbox.com, despite being able to find the daily build for the Fuzev2Anyways, just wondering. Thanks.

On Message 39 of this thread http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/boar...ssage.id=41535 somebody suggests a solution for installing Rockbox on the Fuze v2, where no compiling is necessary.
However, since it isn't official I haven't done it for myself, but others in this thread report that it work. For now, though, it's relatively unstable, and I'm not convinced it's good enough for everyday use, but it shouldn't be long until it is. |

With a brazen disregard for common sense (30 day warranty!) I tried that pre-patched fuzpa.bin, and guess what? It worked! Been a good day, bought a new MP3 player and modded it successfully.
All just before lunch too .UPDATE: Woof, you guys weren't kidding when you said the display can be corrupted haha. Still, haven't had any playback crashes, although the plugins are kinda a minefield.

Just put it on. Still quite a few things to work out, but playback is great. Glad to finally have gapless playback on this thing.

I noticed on the chart that FM says "No" for v2. Does that mean I would lose my FM radio if I installed rockbox on my v2 now?

no, just that FM won't work in rockbox (you can still use OF)

Confirmed coward that I am with my 1 week old Fuze, I am still greatly encouraged by all the v2 RB progress and deeply appreciative of the efforts of the entire RB team.
Kudos! I eagerly await the official thumbs up from the team before I embark on the RB journey myself. In the meantime, I wish all my far braver v2 Fuze brothers and sisters the best of luck and thank them for their continuing feedback to the RB team... cheers, -lestatar

I wouldn't be using the V2 if it weren't for RB. The EQ is great, sure, but the best part is AAC/ALAC with gapless support! Where would I be with those annoying bits of silence between my songs?
RB is fantastic and the more I think of it, the more I realise it is not only a Godsend, but quite honestly, one of the most philanthropic endeavours this net world has. Thanks. The only thing the Fuze V2 needs now is write support - otherwise, it is perfect. |

Well, I had my first freeze today: and that after 3-4 weeks of pretty intense use. Not stable? It's as 'stable' as the stock rubbish firmware and allows me to ride the Fuze's nastiness (other than the stupid wheel) out of existence.
RB: I love you. |

The disk is read only, so saving anything at all is going to be hard . . .
