Strange usb/mains charging problem! ??

Hi folks. I have a strange thing with my VisionM.

I am able to charge it successfully using an old Sony portable DVD player charger, which has all the right settings, and it works a treat!

However, after a few charges I get a strange effect - the audio plays ok, but the screen is off/not functioning/black, so I can't work the controls. If I switch the player off and connect it to my PC via USB, switch it on and charge it via the USB fully, it seems to "reset" itself and works OK on the mains charger for a while again.

(The first time it happened, I thought it had "died" on me!!! )

This has happened a couple of times, and it's a puzzle. Also a nuisance, since I think I have to connect it to the PC every few days - a total pain if I want to take it on holiday!

Any ideas?

Hi...1st Post...so sorry if I get it wrong...
I too seem to be having problems with charging. I have 1.60.2 firmware and my Zen shows the plug icon over a green battery when pluged into a zen wall charger. but does not charge, but I can play tracks. It will not charge or stay connected if I use just the USB port connected to the computer.But if I connect a 5volt supply as well it connects but will not charge....How do I get it to charge...?

You need a new battery, I had same problem replacing battery from ebay

Thank you so much, I got a new battery finally and fitted it to my Zen. Stuck it on charge for 6 hours. All working fine.
