A829 Sound Dropping off

I noticed with this unit, WITHOUT volume limiters some of my music tends to get louder and then drop off.

This is mostly the case with songs with hard bass. I played the songs on another unit just to verify the songs weren't a bad rip, and in fact they are not as they don't do that on other units.

Anyone else experience this?
Also, how long should I expect for battery life on this unit?
I am LOVING the sound quality 99% of the time, just wondering if I have a defective unit.

I got the exactly same problem with the A828 (sometimes). Isn't this due to the Dynamic Normalizer?
