Companies are always trying to charge for content on mobile platforms - phones, DAPs whatever - when it's free elsewhere.

Yup. MS even offers Arrested Development for free, when they then charge for it on XBox Live Marketplace. It's all about content agreements.

And for what it's worth, on Hulu, the best you get is 480p with advertisements. I believe that the Zune Marketplace version is 720p without advertisements. I don't get the $5 pricepoint though.

$5 for a single episode? That I don't get. On iTunes its 1.99 for SD; 2.99 for HD.

It's about three dollars. I think he's confusing it with the fact that, if you don't have any MS Points, you have to put at least five dollars in.

Wait. Arrested Development is free? :O on the Zune Marketplace? Since when?
Sorry about the off-topic post, I've wanted to have Arrested Development in DLable form for ages.

But yeah, like the others said, mobile platforming costs money.

Consider yourself lucky if you got it (V Pilot) for your money. I tried to buy it and the download failed even though they deducted the points from my account. Complaints to MS have been ignored.

As someone who has many of its competitors, how would you rate your overall Z:HD experience so far?

Most of my players aren't tied to a specific marketplace. The only comparison I can make against my Zune HD experience is for iTunes store vs the Zune Marketplace. Here the Zune market experience gets a C, and the iTunes store gets an A-. I've also bought music MP3s from amazon.com and after figuring out one glitch on my end it's been a straightforward and flawless experience. Amazon was very nice to respond within 30 minutes to my complain of a failed download, and after helping me figure out the problem they re-authorized the download and it worked perfectly.

Nope, but the entire series is free to watch on Media Center, Internet TV.
