It's available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in stores.
I've also seen online offers from France, Spain and Netherlands.

Well mine does crash about 10 % of the time when connecting via bluetooth to my cell phone.
About the speed:
There are 3 Styles on the m1 which are not very fast, and annoy me because I hate laggy things . But there is still that one style that's as smooth as the Itouch.One of my frieds has a p3 and i can tell you, the m1 is a lot faster.But i have to admit that i don't know which version he's using.
When scrolling songs or albums, its very smooth with any style.
Since the 1.10 firmware flash apps finally work good.
Overall, I've seen how samsung improved the p2 - and I'm confident (or hope) that they'll fix some minor problems on the m1 as well.

If you are not sure if you should take the p3 or m1 you should maybe wait untill bugs/crashes or whatever you dislike is fixed.
There's no sense in spending so much money if you are not sure about it.

Maybe he's not interested in video so much? I only use the screens on my players to read what is playing and look at the album art....I don't watch any videos.

Yeah, but then he could just not bother with the video on his P3. I don't with mine. The R1 offers nothing new over the P3.

Does the P3 have video out to TV? Looks to me like that and the silly "Beat DJ" are the only things that might be different with the R1, and neither would interest me.

It really is awesome how much you can tailor the sound to your own headphones and ears. For all the negatives of the Q2's controls, I plan to keep it around, even if I do only use it at home.

If only Samsung would bring back the mythical tactile buttons.....there would be great rejoicing on Earth.

anyway, are you saying that the R0 is the best samsung player yet?

Well if for you the best Samsung mp3 player is a high-tech product with hundreds features, then it would be the P3 or the M1 (I wonder when my mp3 player makes my coffee )
But if for you the best is the one which does perfectly what you're expect of it, then the R0 is the chosen one
Ergonomics (tactile controls), good finition, good sound, quite big screen, microSD card slot, video with zero conversion.
There are almost no cons except screen format and resolution (so not very good in video but for me it's an audio player, we don't really care on video), microSD gestion (no merge in library) and the lack of dedicated volume buttons.

But no the R0 is not the best Samsung mp3 player yet, it's only the best today. It's one of the -or the- best in its category (whereas the P3 is not the best in its category, Cowon S9 is as good or even better)
Old Samsung mp3 players like the YH-J70 and the Z5 were at the time much better than current Samsung mp3 players

yeah.. I still am waiting for the yet unannounced version with an OLED screen, TV out, expansion, and WiFi oh well.. the R0 does seem like a nice player though

Exactly. I like the interface on the R1. It's more interactive than the P3's
