Oh well, after 6 days of ownership, my nice new NWZ-S639FB now refuses to turn on. The reset button doesn't appear to do anything, I assume there's nothing else that I can try?
Thanks |

Does your computer recognise it? Will it charge?

No, when you connect it to the PC absolutely nothing happens - it remains dead.
That'll teach me for wanting a way to switch it off completely. I suspect this will be the first time that it's been left untouched for a day, so it's switched itself fully off - except the off state appears to be permanent! |

That's strange - return it. I never let mine completely run down.

There's not some special trick for switching it on from cold is there? You're just intended to press any button surely? Annoyingly it was a clearance item (at an exceptionally good price), so I suspect if I return it I'll have no choice other than a refund. |

If reset doesn't work - and connecting via usb has no effect, then it sounds like it's dead.
Did you get it from Argos in the UK? If so, then they may have others at different branches across the country. You can check online. |

Last time I checked Argos still had some of these at £70, I think. They're usually pretty reliable players so I don't know what's up with yours.

None now I'm afraid. And anyway, I only paid £50!

Oh well, the only one they had left was a display model (which I knew from a previous visit they'd lost the box/manual/cables etc. for). Since it was such a good price I opted to just exchange the walkman itself for the display model. It seems that the price had dropped by another £20 since my previous visit so I got a refund.
Fingers crossed that this display model doesn't also die, still for £30 I guess I can't complain! |

Well done. They're great players so it should be fine.
