Hey guys.
I'm having troubles with my P3. For some reason, no new files whatsoever are being recognised by it. I sync the files to it and they just don't appear. I go to the place I put them on the file browser (on the player itself), and the folder isn't even there. But when I plug it in, the files are there. I'm really worried about my player. The firmware is 2.18. I'm trying going back to 2.14 and then back to 2.18 to refresh the program files in it, maybe that will fix it. The files I'm trying to put on it have been on the player before so I know they work, and I know it is the player and not the files. I'm really stuck at what to do. The player works fine, but if no new songs will sync to it, I'm screwed. It sucks that after 10 days of my first P3 it broke and was fixed for free. Now this about a month later. Any help greatly appreciated. |

Perhaps you are uploading songs in an unsupported by the p3 format?

Nope, these were files that I previously had on the P3. 320KB/s MP3. Even the folder isn't there. Firmware changing didn't work either.

format the drive and then try a different firmware (e.g. downgrade, and then re-upgrade)
that might do it. let me know how it works.

Status update: I called Samsung and it is getting sent for repair, but I might try formatting. I tried firmware updates already.
EDIT: Formatting and firmware updating didn't work. It's getting sent off for sure. It's had to be sent off 2 times in the past 6 weeks

Status update again: Well this is embaressing, I think formatting must have did the trick. Somehow the player totally voided that album name, it wouldn't accept anything of the name of the album. The album name was "... Magni Blandinn Ok Megintir". So I took the dots out of it. Suddenly, all the new files I put on it were there, including that album.
So for anyone who has this strange problem: Format it, rename the troublesome album, re-add all your files and it will work. I'll have to call Samsung tomorrow and cancel the repair. |
