Ok, before I get too far along with finding images...
1) is there a certian size that the images have to be to work? Rockbox will resize them, right? 2) I name them "Album Art.jpg" & stick them in the folder with that albums' songs, right? 3) and these images will work with BOTH Rockbox and the OF? Thanks fo clearing this up. |

I've always had trouble getting AA to work in rockbox, bur here's what I've figured out. The OFW takes embedded album art - in the tags. Rockbox doesn't support this. The stock fw will not display the images you put on your Fuze - only Rockbox will. Rockbox, I think, will display any picture named cover.bmp in the same dir as the song. If you want aa in both, you'll have to tag and put the jpg in the folder. I don't know about a size, but under 600x600 should be fine
Edit: or more simply: 1)yes 2)cover.bmp 3)no

Actually, Rockbox will recognize a number of different filename schemes, for both bitmaps and jpegs:

ultrauber, Thanks for the input, but I want to update some stuff for you. I read over epithetless' post & it helped a lot. I tried several things, and actually got the art to show up in both Rockbox & the OF by putting it into the album folder & naming the pic file "folder". All my pics are .jpg's, and they seem to work great. Thanks to both of you for the help. |

Without rockbox, the fuze only supports 200x200 or files under 192 kB in size.

What I've been getting are mostly 300x300 or more, but WAY under 192kb, so I guess it's any dimensions as long it's under 192.
Can't imagine why you'd need anything more than 192 on that little screen.

without rockbox can you embed the album cover onto the song or need a separate file such as cover.jpg?

The fuze will display embedded files that are <192kB or 200x200 jpegs. Not sure about the cover.jpeg because I have never gotten those to work.

When I had mine I used an image in the folder, not embedded....the trick was naming it "folder.jpg" .

I've tried small files, large files, folder.jpg, cover.jpg, front.jpg(my standard cover art file name for my music library), album art.jpg and nothing works.

I actually had two in each folder.....one that was the size on the main screen, which was usually in the vicinity of 200x200, and another that was around 75x75 for the list of albums. Of course, that was when I was letting WMP grab my art
No longer! Now I use MP3Tag.

I generally make my AA 220x220 cover.jpg. Rockbox will automatically resize it down for the wps, and I can use the jpegviewer plugin to see it fullscreen with only one direction scrolling.
This doesn't work for the OF, but, well, with Rockbox installed, who needs the OF for anything other than USB? |
