@Habhome: Yes, you right. To develop a game like Hurdler would took some time, of course. But at the end it makes more fun than "Tetris" or "Snake" and so it´s worth it to invest so much time.
I expect nothing. It was just an idea : )

@jbob182: Thank´s. I saw that already. But it´s too bad that the development was stopped. And also I don´t like the game very well.
I mean Hurdler is something else.

More fun? I strongly doubt those games would still be around if they were not still entertaining and challenging. Also, "Worth to invest so much time"? Do you know HOW much time you're actually talking about? We do have our own lives you know, and especially me is having a lots of trouble right now in it, and on top of that I just started studying at 150% pace, taking an extra course on "half-time". Meaning 60 hours a week for Uni only.

(Apologies if above post seem harsh, I'm having a very bad week)

I think that we have to accept that we can´t develop each game!
One Reason is the memory/processor of the zen and the other problem is the time.

@Habhome: I´m sorry that your week isn´t very well. No offense meant I just thought that I post my idea and maybe someone would like to program that. If not, it doesn´t matter. However, there is no need for panic. I mean, this thread is called "Application/Game Ideas" not "I do a suggestion and someone have to program this game".

Or you can take my PDFtoImage Converter and so you can place them in the photo viewer and also can read them on the zen.

I think that theoretically, it is possible to create a reader which could load formats such as PDF or DOC directly.
Although io.open() treats all files as plain text documents (as far as I know), we can get a binary representation of each character/byte using string.byte(). I took advantage of that in the game I'm developing for storing highscores in "non-human-readable" form. Not mentioning the fact that it takes up less space on the flashdrive.

Yes but the problem is that we cant create images with the zen and so it isn´t really possible.

You could locate the image within the PDF document and write it to a temporary file which would be loaded as an image. No?

Currently, we do not have access to change the current song, or get any information about it.

I also try to make a paint app with save function but it was to difficult because the problem of the image saving is that they have a strict definiation! The header part is eas there just stand size, colors and so on...
but then there is the data part and this data are compremized and i think its to difficult to write a app like winrar for the zen

Well, you can always write compression algorithms (I once made Huffman coding in Java, for example) but the more important question is how efficient it would be since LUA is an interpreted language. I agree that on ZEN it wouldn't be any nice clean solution.

Once I thought whether there would be a way to write LUA extensions in C.
I don't understand system programming too much, but I believe this would require us to have a working compiler for X-Fi's OS. Which is probably out of the question due to the proprietary nature of the firmware. But I always admired the power of reverse engineering, so who knows... one day maybe.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to do such a task, there is not enough processing power and ram, along with we do not have the proper api to handle loading roms , e.c.t.
