Hi guys,
I purchased my P3 recently and love it to bits...except for the video! The Drag and drop doesn't work at all for me (MTP or UMS mode). I have tried MP4, Mpeg, Avi and WMV and also different resolution videos that should work on the player. None of which are working. I have heard about Handbrake and Super but they won't work for me! Does anyone else share this issue or have any advice ? Thanks! |

what do you mean "won't work". that is highly vague. do you mean they aren't showing up in the video list?
you have to drag them into the videos folder... btw, welcome to abi

Yes, a bit more clarification would help - most all mp4s and wmvs play fine on the P3.

Hey thanks! erm..they all go onto the device, some go into filebrowser>video rather just video and these ones don't work (unsupported format message) and have an odd icon next to the filename. Another one earlier went into the desktop video folder but came up with the unsupported format message aswell. I use emodio occasionally and these videos work but these are wrong size etc. Is there a simple fix or could it be a problem with the videos im using..?
Thanks |

Don't use emodio - it's bad. Copy and paste your videos into the video folder on the P3.
Almost any mp4 will play. For other formats, you have to watch the size (P3 is 472x240, 280?) |

Do you guys use handbrake to get an MP4 file in size 480x272 ? and UMS or MTP mode when dragging and dropping ?
Thanks |

UMS mode - I don't use video a lot on my P3, but someone else will post; have a look around the P3 forums, and welcome to abi.

you know what, it just occurred to me to ask what your firmware version is. if the first number isn't a 2, then you are in need of an update. earlier FW versions have very poor video support.

If you're going to use handbrake, make sure you use the ipod touch settings. After you select ipod touch settings make sure the video format setting is in mp4 and not m4v because sometimes it just randomly changes to m4v. Then just copy the finished video to the video folder directly (copy and paste) in the P3 folder. I have over 20 videos(music videos, movies, episodes) in it and work great. Good luck.
