I can't imagine it taking a whole day. In fact I'll bet they are done by morning the 26th. That assumes they don't just shut it off tonight and then go home.

downloaded and installed, but Zune wont let me sign in, gives me an error. Maybe they aren't done updating yet (based on Zune.com)

The software now recognizes the divx or xvid files that it did not in the past. I synced some of them, and the player can run them. But I am a new zune hd owner, so I do not know if I'm wrong, I am not sure if the software converts the files without informing me.

I am currently syncing a xvid video, 40mins in length and 350MB in size. Started about 3mins ago. I'll edit this post when its done.

10:42am - 10:55am

So a good 15mins to convert and sync 350MB video.

I tried to sync a AVI and it says it is converting it.

Yep it is converting them, Device support for AVI will come later this spring. My guess is a Zune HD only updater this spring.

Are we sure that this isn't the Xvid Support ? It never said specifically that the play will natively support and play xvids, maybe all we are getting is the ability of the software to see xvids and convert. If so, it's dog slow doing it your better to use a 3rd party converter.

was the infinite time bug fixed?

They said it wouldn't come to the world until later this spring so I bet this is the PC software update and the Zune device will support it later.

on another note they have changed the playlist icons to black so they don't stick out like a big sore pink thumb.

Wow, the software seems a bit faster!! In fact I practically stopped using it the past few months due to it lagging/freezing all the time. I actually started hating the software.

CRAP! I'm so mad, I worked so hard putting all these cropped images on the zune and now the update reset EVERYTHING!

Here's what happened to me, I updated and it reset ALL the settings and began syncing and removing random files from my zune (originally i had to set to manual). I removed all the sync files on the sync list and then it started deleting everything. Now lots of my pictures are gone. I tried hitting restore on the computer cuz it thew a lot of stuff in the trash my picture folders are still missing on my comp. I dont know what the Zune did to them. Gawdd i so mad! Any help guys?

it is a second gen issue here is a source link from the zune forums. I shouldn't have posted on this thread considering it isn't about the HD. I was just hoping because there was a lot of activity that someone might have an older zune and know the answer.
