Hi - I have been lurking for a while but am now the proud owner of my first(!) portable player and I have a few questions. I am on firmware 2.18EU:
1. I know that on earlier releases it was impossible to switch off the 'jingle' at power on/closedown. Is that still the case? 2. Whenever I disconnect the P3 from my PC, the P3 switches off, even if it was on originally. Is it possible to leave it switched on after disconnect? 3. Album Art. Almost all my music is FLAC files organised by album folders, with album art included in the folders as cover.jpg and back.jpg alongside the songs. Even tho' I have re-sized the jpg files to 200x200 before I copy them to the P3, I cannot see them. Should this be possible?? Thanks in advance for your advice - Roy Simpson |

Hi, as far as I know it's still impossible to disable the jingle.
2. No, it switches off to save power. 3. I'm not au fait with FLAC and album art, but if you search around there is a thread somewhere. Welcome to abi. |

It's so funny to see French words in English! And I'm sure the pronunciation is also hilarious
![]() Deja Vu, isn't it? ![]() Covers have to be embedded in tags to display

Also if I may add, if you want your FLAC files on your player properly with tags working, change to UMS mode. You might be okay without it, but I had to switch to that mode before it worked.
Also, for tagging FLAC tiles, download MP3Tag.

Thanks for the replies.
My problem with Album Art (and, I suspect, tagging in general) is that the original reason for my music collection was to digitise a lifetime's collection of vinyl and tapes, 90% classical music, for playing at home. For this, I have used Foobar for my tagging and the cover.jpg approach for album art. I now have to work out the minimum changes to get the best use of tagging on the P3. Incidentally, I am already using UMS - picked up the advice from earlier threads here. best wishes - Roy Simpson |
