Default Any way to convert videos onto Zen X-fi 2?

So I got a Zen x-fi 2, and found out it was easier to click and drag music onto the media... but it seems, I can't do that with videos. Is there a certain type of file I need to make the videos into?

They need to be .AVI videos encoded with the XviD video codec. The player won't see anything but AVI files and it wont play anything but XviD (someone correct me if I'm wrong there).

My DVD Ripping Tutorial may help you convert those videos to play on your X-Fi2. Just select the video file you want to convert instead of a DVD.

The player supports WMV9, MPEG4-SP, DivX4/5 and XviD.

There are different kinds of MPEG4. This one supports MPEG4-SP.

SP meaning "Simple Profile"

Your MPEG4 files are probably another type of MPEG4.

I'm gonna go with mccabe on this one. Definitely Any Video Converter Free. It lets you change almost all of the outputs, and can handle virtually every video codec out there.

I've always been suspicious of formatfactory... The way they talk about virus alerts when installing it doesn't bode very well in my eyes.

I use Handbrake 0.9.3, or Media Converter. Although the later is hard to handle.
What is this video converter you're talking about Robs? Centrale? I never got it to recognize my vids at all.

So...anyways...I use *********** Video Converter Platinum. Anyone else use this program? I've been using it for almost a year, but not with the X-Fi2 (just got it today). It has pre built profiles for converting video to many devices (including Zen Vision M)...but they won't work on the X-Fi2.

I'm stuck...I don't know what conversion profile to choose. There are 100's and I'm not going to test each one.

Then I suggest you don't use a preset but instead set the conversion settings yourself. You can use this as a guideline how to set your software:http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ad.php?t=51598

Got it!

I used the "canned" setting for the Creative Zen W...and forced the screen resolution to 400 x 240. Works perfect.

Use Anysoft Any Video Converter. No regret and conversion very fast. Video is full screen stretch nicely and quality is indeed good. Follow my setting and you can't go wrong. But beforehand, please install K-Lite Mega Pack Pro (current version is 5.9.0). It can convert rmvb, flv and etc.

1. Select Creative Zen X-Fi Movie (*.avi) profile.

2. Configure the follow settings in this profile.

Video Options
==========

Video Codec: mpeg4 (by default)
Frame Size: 400x240
Video Bitrate: 640
Video Framerate: 25

Audio Options
==========

Audio Codec: mp3 (by default)
Audio Bitrate: 64
Sampling Rate: 44100
Audio Channel: 2
Disable Audio: No
A/V Sync: Basic
