My Zen Vision:M stopped working a while ago. I've since replaced it with a new Zen, but there are some files on the old one which I'd like to recover. As far as I know, the hard disk inside is intact and wasn't the cause of failure.
I've taken the player apart and managed to isolate the hard disk, which is a silver Hitachi Travelstar with blue rubber edges. There's a flat plastic/metal connection with a white plastic end plug. Is there any way I can connect this directly to a normal Windows laptop to recover the files? If so, which cable do I need? Many thanks! |

Yeah I think the ZV:M uses a ZIF hard drive, so if you want to plug it into a laptop the best adaptor will probably be a ZIF to USB adaptor so you won't even need to open the laptop up.
