Default Your portable DAP case/bag (PICS)

I recently got a great hard case for my iems, dap, fiio, cables, flash cards and drives, ect.

I have been looking for a good impact resistant case to carry my portable gear in on the go in my backpack as when loose stuff just breaks or gets damaged too easily.

I found this case at a thrift ship which i assume is a sunglasses case or something with a hard shell. I had been looking for something like this online for quite some time and all i could fine was a burton 420 kit but they are discontinued and hard to find now.

So anyhow here it is and i am interested to see what everyone else keeps their stuff in on the go, be it a bag or some sort of organizer or case.

First side, the separator flap on this side has a mirror, as a wearer of contact lenses this is actually really handy and the only mirror i own lol.

Other side, the separator flap has a tight mesh pocket perfect for cables.

Best $1.50 i ever spent.

Hey! That's actually quite a cool case! Can totally see the utility of this. Love the flap separating/creating 2 compartments with the mesh pocket.

I have a few eyeglass cases lying around too - maybe I'll try and repurpose them.

$1.50? You shoulda bought a bunch and tried to sell them, maybe even here at abi! I'd pay $3.00 for that...

<gonna scrounge and look around>

cheers,

Nice case!

Generally I don't bother. I do have a leather case for my X, but my other players, no. I even scrunch up my iems in my pocket.

I wish they had more than one but no such luck being a thrift shop and all the stock is very random. I'd like to find one twice the size to fit portable audio stuff in one side and all my precision tools/ect in the other.

I have a semi-hard case I got from Koss a wile back, billed as a case for my KSC75's, yet there is room for them, and 2 or 3 DAP's in it. Pictured here with my old Clip, sold months ago.....I think it cost around $10.

I use a psp hard case for my cowon j3, which i also put into a ghetto looking hand sewn canvas form fit Velcro closed case. i would put pics but I don't have a camera. I transport my tube and solid state amps and cables .ect in a gutted steel Milwaukee sawzall case with filled stiff open cell foam form cut to fit all of my sensitive bits, the same kind of foam used for protecting microphones in those plastic hard-cases they come in. I dropped the case (on accident) from about 3 and a half feet onto asphalt and it didn't hurt anything inside, not even my extra amp tubes ( i carry three extra tubes for my amp just in case i break the one on it hasn't happened yet but why not ya know . bought a 6 pack of amp tubes for 25 bucks at a garage sale, the guy didn't know what he had.) and I keep my Hd 280's folded and stuffed into a purple drawstring crown royal bag. I have about 40 of these bags from when my grandpa went through a classy nightly drink period in the 80's. there useful for keeping stuff in.

Lightbulb Hardshell Case for Clip+ & IEMs

I just added a little foam lining to this flashlight case. Fits nicely in coat pocket and provides some decent protection.

Gift type boxes like this that come with fancy pens, watches, etc. can be worth holding onto for re-purposing.

Lightbulb Maybe a little fishy...

Here's another idea, if you want a hard case, but don't have anything lying around you can adapt. I haven't actually tried it but this might work as a really solid, waterproof case for a Clip or other compact DAP.

Very similar to these but a little less transparent I use the case from an old mouthguard that became obsolete when I switched to custom molds. For a very snug fit (and a little more weight) I can use a tinyplug ting

i use the case logic universal mp3 player travel case
its large, and has many mesh pockets for organization. in the front, there is a seperate pocket for your main pmp, with a clear screen that allows for some means of usablility while the pmp is in the case

Inelegant, but effective......generic Tupperware ftw! Room for 5 DAPs and one set of 'phones, in a hard case.
