I have my Zen for about half a month and I also noticed the bruised screen. But then I noticed one more strange thing. Bruises appears randomly, for example at the time I am writing this post there are no bruises, but about hour ago the screen was full of them :/ It is totally weird...

Hi,
I recently discovered a stain on my screen that was looking like a soap stain and it appeared after storing the Zen inside a pocket of my trousers. I'm not exactly sure what I did, but the stain disappeared. I think I polished the screen with my shirt until it was clean and then put it again inside my pocket. When I took it out the stain was gone - possibly this can be a fix for anyone else with that problem (polishing the screen and press some cloth on it for a while). ~ZaP

Negative.
I was keeping my zen on the table in front of my eyes whole day. And bruises twice appeared and disappeared. Although it doesn't bother me, but I am just curious why and how this problem is

Could someone provide pictures of the bruises? It's hard to imagine what the problem might be without even seeing what it looks like.

As soon as they reappear on my zen I will take some photos and will post them here. Luckily/unfortunately, currently there are no bruises on mine

I think it has something to do with lcd liquid. Maybe the screen has been pressed to hard or something. I have the same problem, and i'm gonna see if I can capture the bruises on camera. Mine is permanent though, but only slight visible at some angles.

I haven't succeeded to capture them. Zen is too shiny
But while trying to get enough light for my capturing, I've noticed that bruises in daylight just disappear(or becomes impossible to detect due to high intensity lighting). Although, while in my room with both Wolfram and Gas lamps lit up, bruises are visible. The farther the weirder....

Hmm, I had something similar to that, but it was only visible in a certain angle and it was on the black area around the home button.
I suspect some kind of prism action is going on with the screen, it is soft so it could possibly bend the light in such a fashion.

Correction to my post: I am not able to detected bruises only if it is natural(sun) or wolfram lighting. If Zen is lit using gas lamps, bruises are visible. I know how and why the light differs from these sources, but it is still, interesting phenomena

I myself have just purchased the Creative X-FI2 after carefully reading around, I was going to consider an iRiver but many people and reviews says iRivers have terrible battery life, as does the iPOD touch and iphone(if you use it as a mp3 player).
I ended up with a creative, i myself used creative MuVo 128mb usb stick mp3 player before and was very satifisied until i broke it >_> and my Creative Zen touch which lasted me quite abit until it started having terrible firmware problems and i had no way to resolve it as it kept saying firmware error. Finally i went and got an iPOD nano that has lasted me 3years before i lost it (kept it in near perfect condition). Just curious does the screen bruises on the X-FI2 become very visible even if the backlight of the player is on with say music with wallpaper or video in the background? or is it only visible from light reflections? I'm getting a screen protector for my X-FI2, will that help in the screen bruise problem? or its a matter of how much pressure i put on the screen? |

I am using my Zen for about a month. I am keeping it in my pocket all the time and it has no physical bruises or scratches on the screen. Although, as I mentioned before, in non-daylight enviroment(actually, the only thing that causes that is http://www.okokchina.com/Files/uppic...0Lamps)218.jpg) oil-like stain behind the screen is visible. Of course, with full brightness and colorful background it is impossible to distinguish it
I hope I helped

I wonder how you guys handle your stuff, or how unlucky you are for them to break or so. I have had no issues whatsoever with this, or most of the other stuff people have had troubles with on here.
