You should also read the "noob glossary" in my signature so you can answer a lot of those kinds of questions yourself.

I don't even use manual install, IMO you should ALWAYS try the utility first, its the safest bet

For most people the Utility is the way to go. For really, really geeky people, the process of a manual install just makes more sense. Just my $0.02 CAD though... |

Not to sound judgmental or anything but is extracting a rar/zip really that hard to do? lol
Step 1) Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?4j390qyw359btfz Step 2) Extract the downloaded file into the root of your clip+ Step 3) ???? Step 4) Success

Anybody got a volume patch, 3.7.1 seems like it doesn't have the loudness patch from version X (don't remember, few months ago - a custom patch with well done non-clipping volume increase)?
Thanks! |

As of r28789 we now have logging for the database to trouble shoot crashes when building it. If you go to System > Debug > Metadata Log, the database scanner will generate a log as it parses files. This way if it crashes, you can open the log, find the last file it was looking at when it crashed, and see if its corrupt.
If you find any files that crash the database, please report them so we can fix the metadata parsers to no longer crash so often. |

Ah, that's a nice new feature, I'm going to update my build again tonight, I think.

Appreciate it. Your build continues to be trouble free for me. Glad you're willing to keep it up to date. Hope you'll continue to until the official build totally supports USB.

I'm also on the queue for his build. 0 problems with it and using it hard everyday (lots and lots of audiobook listening).

Maybe it'll work better on your Win7 machine than it did on my Vista OS. I wound up with corrupted files quite a bit when it didn't connect properly. It cleared up when I went back to dfkt's build with just the Meier crossfeed.

That's why I mentioned the OS. Apparently Windows and Linux handle USB connections differently. Or maybe it's just my machine idk. About every 6th time I'd connect I'd get the "Device Not Recognized" error and it would start to refresh the database. I'd sometimes, not always, would run into file corruption problems shortly after. I spent more time fixing that than waiting for database refreshes so I gave it up.
I'm a very patient person as I posted earlier here. Until I'm up to writing the USB driver or patch needed to make it reliable you'll hear no complaints from me. I'm content with everything else that happens once it does finish refreshing.

If this doesn't work out to my satisfaction, I won't complain about going back to 3.7.1. The only thing missing from 3.7.1 is the USB support, otherwise it does everything I want it to do. (except for printing money)
