Falling Balls

Hey, I have been busy working on Falling balls for the Zen. Currently it has balls falling from the sky (unlike the ipod version) I may change this in a future update.

Current Version: 1.1
-highscores
-6 levels of difficulty (as your score gets higher)
-accelerometer control
-animated movement
-choice of 6 different colour schemes
-more realistic physics
-crash bug fixed
-pause button
-remembers the colour you used previously

Bugs:
-None (let me know if you find any)

one thing, im guessing that the balls are based around square images rather than circles, as I've been hit a few times by a circle that was close, but didnt actually hit me.

Yes they are, it's because I havent used a very detailed hitTest but most of the time it does allow some margin for error

Also has anoyone encountered any Error Occurred Messages yet?

Cool! It's working pretty smooth, and I did not encounter the crash yet.

I think it would be really hard to make them bounce like the iphone app (if not impossible because all the calculations could slow it down too much)...

About the squares, Tetrajak has made something to draw circles, maybe you can use some of that :

i made some new pictures for the balls because the old ones have not the best quality. if you want to use then: just replace the old pics

Okay everyone, I have worked out why it was crashing, and have fixed it. I will release this new version soon using sligtly improved graphics (With thanks To MoePercent! ) And would you guys like to have a color selection in the game e.g. white background black text, blue background orange text, green background red text etc. ? If so then let me know and i'll make it happen!

I agree that an ability to pause the game is neccesary and like mentioned above, tapping the screen would be the best option to pause the game.

I also agree that color selection should be made

I'd love the colour selection feature! I'd also love the balls to come in from the side and bounce off the floor with the bouncing sound like the iPod/iPhone application, but if this is asking for too much, don't bother

I'm going to be working on adding the colour selection and pause this afternoon, but if i do attempt to make the balls come in from the side then it will be in a later version, as it basically means re-vamping the whole ball spawning code But also, bear in mind that the version you all have at the moment has very bad ball physics which are much improved in the next version (uploading later today)... it was the pysics and spawning that was causing the random crashes

something i would really love but is probably an impossible dream is that if you tilt it enough, say onto its side, then it would change the gravity, the man would run along the new bottom, and the balls would fall from the new top

that would be very cool but like i say, probably an impossible dream :P

That's a pretty nice idea there, but yeah it would be very difficult, as it would man having to change the screen orientation midway through the game :/ (Update: i have got the pause working and have started on the colour change, so expect a new version in a couple of hours)
