No Album art with Flac

I always used Mp3 but today i have a Album in Flac
transfering it to M1 it does not show the album art
is there any way around this?

if not i guess i stick to Mp3 on M1 and save the Flac for Cowon s9 i get next week.

Btw, anyone know a easy program to gain volume like mp3gain but for flac
i tried Foobar but i found it complicated
i always want the volume 99-100db

Make sure via mp3tag the tag version is "FLAC (FLAC)"
Then it depends on the FLAC encoder. With some of them the cover art may display, with others no.
I don't have M1 anymore to test it but that's the case on the P3. With the FLAC encoder of Cdex, the cover art displays.

ok mine is called Tag&rename and i cant see Flac anywhere
but i could edit songs and such

I should re-tag them just to be sure.

For example Mp3tag it will say it has a FLAC tag even though it doesn't.

Ok now i even tried The other program mp3tag v2.45a
tagged album art again moved to m1 but still no album art on flac
i cannot find anywhere in mp3tag where it should say is flac tag where do i find it?

Ok in mp3tag when i click a file and then properties it say this FLAC (FLAC)
so dunno why the album art wont show up it does show in mp3tag (and tag&rename also) but not on the player

Update:
For now i just converted the flac into 320kbps mp3 and now the album art show up
i will look more into this when i get the cowon s9 and try with the sames files

Either the M1 cannot read FLAC cover arts (I don't remember) or it is due to the FLAC encoder.
As I told you, if you convert the FLAC file into WAV and then FLAC again with cdex, maybe that wil work.

Don't use 320kbps mp3 files. Use VBR V0 instead.

FLAC album art doesn't work at all on the Zen X-Fi2, but I don't know about this player..

Does the M1 pick up album art if it's in the album folder? For example the Cowons pick up cover.jpg as art if it sees it. That's a nice way to add art to file types that don't support it.

WAV and FLAC are both lossless formats so the quality remains equal

If anyone have the M1 try to test downloading a Flac album and tag the songs either with tag&rename or mp3tag see if the album art show up or not
i know not many have this device but if some do please try it
atleast we then know if M1 suport album art in flac or not

Ok Got my Cowon S9 now fantastic player
Is loud and great sound (maybe M1 is a bit louder but not by much so is ok)

The Flac album not showing album art on M1 do show it on S9
So the problem is not on the Flac encoding then is the M1 itself that dont show it?

I think it's because there is no standard for imbedded art in FLAC files. On your S9 just stick the correct album art in the folder of each album with the filename cover.jpg.

All music folders on my pc have a cover.jpg in them
could be S9 read it from the cover.jpg instead of embedded
while m1 not
So maybe is better to put flac on s9 and keep m1 limited to mp3

You are mistaken here. Embedded images are not defined for Ogg-Vorbis files, but are very completely supported for Flac files.
The official flac encoder provide the --picture={FILENAME|SPECIFICATION} switch to add images to the file while encoding.
So desktop music manager are often able to use embedded images from flac files.

i think its already common knowledge for samsung m1 that doesnt support cover album for FLAC.
i already talk about this thing a few times since long time ago (since last year)
