I've always found it weird that the official Rockbox bootloader displays a "shutting down" message when one flicks the power slider of the X5 shortly, and only really powers on when one holds the slider for a second. The original Cowon firmware also needs a slide-and-hold gesture to turn it on, but Rockbox displaying that "shutting down" message is kind of counterintuitive.
Since my X5 never turned itself on my accident, I see no need for a slide-and-hold procedure on the X5. That's why I made an X5 bootloader that instantly turns the X5 on, without wait and without the need to hold the power slider: http://www.mediafire.com/?ifmjmjxwg3m
- this is also in line with newer Cowon players like the D2, S9, or O2, which also power on instantly.
Thanks to Rockbox developers n1s and amiconn for their help!
