I'm just starting with videos on my new P3. I'm trying to put .mp4 files, as I assumed these would be the most universal. Probably wrong. Anyway, EmoDio is useless, crashes. Windows Media Player 11 doesn't know about mp4, so refuses the drag and drop. What do people do?

Set your P3 into UMS (settings>system>pc connection) and then drag & drop the video into the P3. You don't need EmoDio or WMP.

On Vista, using Windows Explorer (not WMP) to drag-and-drop, I can load a 640x480 MP4 SP 30fps in MTP. It first warns me that I can only put the file on the device for storage purposes, and asks me if I really want to copy it. It thinks it won't play on the device. But it does. So if your OS allows the copying, and the format is supported on the device, there's no need to put the device into UMS.

There is not need to stay in MTP either. MTP is the worst thing ever made by Microsoft.

I didn't realize there was no bookmarking and no resume other than last playing and this trick of one MP3 per folder. That trick makes me still hopeful, meaning I'm probably about to waste many hours testing various folders and folder depths containing DRM WMA files. |
