Default S 545 and Windows 7 Problems

Although my new laptop with Win 7 sees my Walkman and all the files are visable it wont let me drag and drop files from walkman to the laptop or vise versa. Says device in use do not disconnect.. Takes ages fot the walkman to display the normal Time and alsrm will not work screenso I can unplugg it.any help welcome thanks

Have you tried the reset button? You'll need something like a paper clip to press it, but it might help.

Not yet my friend that will be last resort as its working fine with my win XP pc and lap top.

Mine works fine with either XP or Win 7 Ultimate.

This has to do with MTP. For me, ditching MTP in favor of MSC solved that problem...along with all the rest of my issues. YMMV.

When I did that, my S545 was bricked for 36 hours before I could coax it back to life.....once it came back to life, I plugged it back into the computer, it all reinstalled as an MTP device, and it's been perfectly fine ever since. So YMMV, indeed.

It could possibly be the security features on windows 7, you could have also accidentally marked the walkman as read only, but probabpy not. check control Panel and go to devices, ya never know...
