On the rockbox page it lists .m4b files as being among its supported codecs. Yet when I try to play the files rockbox doesn't, it just flashes me back to the audiobooks sub-menu. I'm using rockbox version r27677.
Does anyone know why this is? I'll also add that the files themselves are fine and uncorrupted, and play without incident on my computer.

Where did the.m4b files you're using originate from? If they're DRM "protected", Rockbox isn't going to play them.

They were given to me by a friend. I asked for an audiobook he liked (he stores them on his hard drive) and he gave me a flash drive with a few.
If they are "protected" is there a safe program I can download that would convert the .m4b files to a more manageable format, such as mp3? Edit: never mind, I just remembered that foobar will convert the files. Idiot moment for me. ![]() Thanks for the help anyway.
