1) The bad news is that the LCD can not be replaced unless you have the equipment and skills for fairly fine soldering.
2) Just about everything else can be easily removed and replaced, including the battery, the memory daughter card, the front panel and the control wheels.
I'd be interested in a little more help for removing the back panel (I think I read that that was a screw holding it in?) and replacing the battery. My player has been freezing lately, and now it is just shutting off. I'm thinking the battery is dying. I was going to order a new one.
