bought a clip+ and got a question about rockbox.

Well, I didn't, and using it on my Clip+ was the first time I ever touched RB. Using it as a media player is very straightforward (Power on, Files -> find the music you want) - but doing anything else gets more confusing...? Like the EQ's, tons of modification available.

But yes, read up. Never wrong to be prepared!

Yes it does, it will be a dual booting clip+

Edit: either the OF or rockbox can be booted when you start it up

Pressing power button alone when unit is off = Boot RockBox
Pressing power buttom + home buttom = Boot Official Firmware.

I bet you learned that one from not reading the manual, good advice

lars1216: Late to this, but absolutely. Reading the manual is critical IMO for any new Rockbox user.

I mean it is possible to get the very basics of Rockbox without reading the manual, but you will never achieve any kind of real understanding about it and all the possibilities of Rockbox without perusing the manual.

I am technically proficient and have been using DAPs for 13+ years - trust me, I read the manual.

And just to add, as to manual reading: it's beneficial for using Rockbox not because of any inherent complexity of Rockbox (although that can exist as well, at times, with certain features, but also just can be skipped), but because of the richness of the options.

i installed the bootloader and rockbox with the utility but it still doesnt work.
i think its something of the bootloader because it doesnt boot rockbox.
anyone of you know's what the problem could be?
can't even click on complete installation so have to click bootloader and the firmware itself one at a time, maybe that could be the problem?

I don't believe the RockboxUtility works with the newest Clip+. Go here. Please read the entire first post on that page before you do anything else.

Also the forum has an excellent search engine.

finally got rockbox on it but now i got a problem with it. when i put music on it it doesnt see it in rockbox but it does in the OF.
how to solve this?

So after following the directions on the I page I linked to Rockbox won't boot for you? AFAIK that bootloader and a current build should be able to get Rockbox up and going on all the versions of the Clip+.

yes, thanks for the link i read it again and i used it. it worked and i got rockbox on it working. but now i cant play my .mp3 music files and the OF can read them how could i solve this problem?

You used the folder navigation to access the file, and have pressed either the right button or the center button when the file is highlighted?

the file isnt even there in the rockbox firmware i can not see it at all.
and on sansa's (OF) firmware i can just play it.
