For testing the OF, recording it to 8 bit 8khz wav would also work. Then when you find it dead, open the wav in an audio editor or whatever and see when the music stopped playing. Of course if you do that, you should also test rockbox with the headphones removed in case theres a difference.

I think I'm missing something here. The headphone out to the sound card to record the .wav is the same as no headphones?

Yeah pretty much. Impedance of air is infinite. The impedance of the sound card is probably 10k ohms, which is also pretty big compared to 16 ohm headphones. I have no idea how much of a difference it really makes though. It might not matter at all.

I cant compile, cygwin went to crap on me, cant get it to work at all now, need to wait till a friend of mine has time to remote in and see if he can fix it(have done a full reinstall 3 times and it just wont work....very frustrating) |

I don't think the cygwin packages have been updated since we changed compilers, so you'll either need to run rockboxdev.sh as per the instructions in the unix/linux setup guide (cygwin is pretty close to linux), or use vmware (which probably does not have the new compiler either but can be setup with it by following the linux instructions much like cygwin).
I'll try and come up with something else worth testing later. |

ok, yeah, I had it working, and had used the rockboxdev.sh but one day i went to bed, got up and went to do a new compile and found that i got errors and where not related to the source(been a while) eventually gave up trying to fix it and did a clean reinstall and even that didnt fix it :/
I think it just dosnt like me for some reson :P |

Hey pretty sweet eboyer93, looks like you got 30 more mins with the latest LAME.
![]() In any event, seems ~22 hours is the max life for RB/v2Fuze using HW LAME rips...Good info for all prospective Fuze/RB parties , especially since we are the only ones who put that info up there thus far lolLooking forward to your Clip+ results as well...

the usb patch, well I just held the button as I plugged it in, bit annoying but It wasnt a show stopper for me, having to not hold a button tho is just great, just makes things so much easier.
I listen to alot of audio books, many being over 20hours long, not being able to charge as i listen wouldnt work for me since i like to charge when im in bed as i listen and sometimes play jewels or the other games :P |

That should be a big difference....FLAC battery life with the Sansa firmware is terrible. My old V2 Clip went from 14.5 hours with a mix of mp3 and wma files, to 8.5 with FLACs.
And your results look pretty good....especially being that the files were on the memory card. Just wondering, did you have headphones plugged into it? I wonder if that affects the battery life....

No i didn't have headphones plugged in.
When I first got my Clip+ I put some flac files on the SD Card cause I didn't have time to encode them to MP3 and it killed the battery like that. Rockbox should be much better with FLAC Playback when it comes to battery life.

Nice going eboyer93...Pretty good I think for such HQ LAME and with the album living on the uSDHC card.
What is the normal battery time for a stock Clip+? Just curious...
