how many of you use protection.....for your Fuze

I just got my 8 GB Fuze today from amazon and was wondering if i should use some kind of case for it.

What is best? a silicon skin or hard case

i also plan on using it in my dock so it needs to be easily removable

I have the crystal clear case for my Fuze [a couple of spares as well]. Tolerances are surprisingly good, but the case is notoriously difficult to remove without breaking the tiny clips holding the 2 case halves together.

I do not like silicone cases as most are cheap feeling to me and are massive dust magnets [though higher grade silicone is better at repelling dust I have found].

And my Fuze never left the house until I got the case

PS: the crystal case has a cutout for the connector. I do not have a dock so I cannot test it for you but for sure, the Sandisk cable fits perfectly with the case on the device.

If you need to take the case off regularly, the crystal case is prolly not for you.

I do not know if your dock will accept a crystal case enclosed fuze because of the added thickness of the case itself.

the crystal clear cases cover the screen so he probably doesn't use one.

I have ordered the Best Skins Ever protector and Crystal case to go over that. I am still waiting for delivery on both but from my understanding even if you have the Crystal case and put the Fuze in your pocket, dust and other small particles can get in behind the crystal case and scratch the screen and other glossy parts of the player..

If you need easy removal, go with the silicone. You will need a screen protector, the screen scratches easily without one. But the silicone is easy to remove, it gives you the freedom to trim it with an X-acto knife if you want easier access to the power switch, and it provides a little cushion if you drop it....plus it's less likely to slip out of your hand.

I definitely prefer it to the crystal cases.

Actually, eboyer is incorrect!

Yes, the crystal case covers the entire screen [quite nicely too], but while in Hong Kong, I picked up a bunch of superclear screen films [largest size for like ipods and such]. A little measuring and cutting and I threw on a film for the Fuze as well.

I have a DLO Action Jacket for my fuze. I picked it up from Best Buy. It's not easy to remove, but the Velcro strap covering the bottom should flip out of the way for you to be able to use it on a dock.

I just use the Sansa leather sleeve, It gives enough protection but it real easy to remove. If you're fussy about the screen, you still might want to get screen protector film as it has a screen protector built in, but can still allow for sand, grit, etc to get between the player and the case.

I've been using an InvisibleSkin from Zagg ever since I got my fuze 2 or 3 years ago. I recently took it off because I planned on getting a new one (which I still do, a white one maybe), and the screen was in PERFECT condition. The skin itself does an amazing job at not getting scratched either. The only problem was the huge pain in the *** to get it on. I didn't have a skin for the back so it's pretty messed up :P

I use a crystal case for my fuze and it only has 2 annoying problems, it's hard to take it off and there is a small hole in the back for a belt clip that no one really uses.

I use a crystal case, the toughest protection around. The silicon cases are too flimsy, and they allow dust and debris to scratch the device when I pocket it. Even if such gets under the crystal cases protection, there's no rubbing./abrasion - so I just need to dust the Fuze off.

I have that same case on mine. It protects well against scratches, but don't drop it onto the street (I've done that too many times getting out of the car). I think the buttons aren't always responsive because of this. I have to press on the case once in a while for left, play, and the scroll wheel to work. Not a big deal, just more of an annoyance. Just to clarify, the case doesn't cause any kind of unresponsiveness at all.

I use the Best Skins Ever protective film. I tried using this and then putting a crystal case over it but the fit was so tight that the tabs broke that clip the clear shell together. I kind of like the fact that with the skin I still am protected from scratches etc. (not full drops though) and have not added any bulk at all to the player so is still very pocketable with the FiiO E5

Well i bought these cases for my Fuze and i have to say l like them alot

They seem to be better made than the silicone case i have for my clip

and i do not have any problems with fit around the headphone jack and connector. it fits into my Altec Lansing dock with no problem

it is a little tight around the scroll wheel but that does not bother me
