Vpt surround in nwz-s544

I bought Sony S-544 WALKMAN and I am very much disappointed of the fact that it has got no VPT SURROUND option in it.
i just love the sound with VPT surround.
Is there anyway that i can get this VPT option enabled on my walkman by updating firware or changing source code.
I want VPT surround option on my walkman....
plz help me out!!!

Nope - the Walkman doesn't do vpt surround sound - none of them. And there's no FW update to change this, and no hidden menu tweaks either.

VPT, which stands for Virtual Phone Technology, is a proprietary sound processing
technology developed by Sony.

So I guess they only put it on their phones.

Ah, thanks TDS and especially Steve. I had no idea what the hell VPT was when I read the OP, especially since I have never used Sony phones.

Not exactly related, but about surround sound, I still have to listen to "Dolby Headphone" encoded music. I should look if there are posts about it in the forum.

VPT(VIRTUAL PHONE TECHNOLOGY) is developed by Sony.
i will give the link so that you know what actually VPT is.
virtual phone tecnology doesn't mean that it should be present only in sony phones.MANY sony walkmans are enabled with this VPT SURROUND.
EXAMPLE the sony X-SERIES walkman is enabled with this feature.
with vpt enabled you feel like the source is coming from outside and not from ear-phones.you feel the sound like as if you are in studio,club etc(studio,club,arena,karoake,live)these five are diffrent vpt audio options.

That's so not true VPT surround is a very common function with Sony players. My S739 definitely has it (although I dislike it and I never use it) and I'm pretty sure a friend of mine has it on his E436 too.
