NW-S750 Series (Pics Added)

Hi All!

I'm new here and wanted to know what you guys think of this model:

I've purchased a NW-S756 (32gb model), sadly i'm out of home and without a camera, will upload pics of it and a short description of the device later (it ain't exactly a retail unit), in the meantime I just wanted to hear your opinions of this model line...

Its not a retail unit, all i got with the player was the USB Cable, MDR-NC033 NC IEM and the unit itself:

Seems like parts of the firmware is still left untranslated. BTW this is definitely not a fake.

Hi,

I am really interested in this Walkman model, were did you purchase it from and is there a 32gb version. Also, the one you have has the English menu, but one ebay seller say's that the nw-s756 only comes in Japanese Language only.

Please could you confirm this and do you know where I can get a version like yours imported to the UK.

I can't see any serial number or model inscriptions on your player. It looks like a factory leak...

Yes, while in HK, in what little free time I have, I have been trying to keep an eye out for these new Sonys, the E/S series. I am very interested...dammit... lol

Hey bigneeker: At present I believe the 32gb Sonys are only available in Europe and Asia, though I could well be wrong...

Hi,

From what I have heard, the Sony NW-S750 series are only sold in and are only for Japan. I'm happy now as I purchased the NWZ-S755 from ebay for around £145, this is the Walkman and black or silver are the best colours.

Also, the volume is way louder than the UK versions because I can actually hear the earphones distort with bass on max.

That seems to translates into "Unless you know the guy with the key to the back door at the plant in Malaysia you ain't getting one." suresh13 could disprove that with a link to a valid source but until then I'm not going to waste anymore thought on this one.

Indeed, skip252, the pedigree for this particular device might be...ahem...in question. For the OP, I do hope it works and continues to work - RMA'ing this thing might open a can of worms

Still, discussion of this model type in general is useful to me though I don't a whit for the Karaoke mode or the NC stuff. A shame really, since I think I like the cosmetics of this S a bit better than the newest E series.

I know what's gonna happen - I am gonna get a new E series 16GB, prolly in next month or two.

I know they are not available in the US but I am willing to import. so far I found one place called Japan Direct Shop that sells them but they said the menu is only in japanese.

I really need 32gb so the s755 isn't an option for me.

Hi,

I saw on a mobile forum that you are selling the NW-S756, I originally wanted this 32gb model in Silver but was told that the display language was only in Japanese.

Can the display language of the NW-S756 be changed to English and also how much are you willing to charge for 1 unit in UK £. Do you also take paypal as I am really interested in this model as my NWZ-S755 is good but cannot play atrac files as they were better.

Alas, EU volume hobbling, so i won't be getting one.

If you really want to avoid the EU volume limit as I did, then if you have ebay, I suggest you purchase this one.

I have purchased this and already am enjoying the unlimited sound because when I turn it up to the maximum (with bass full), I can actually hear the earphone speakers distort a lot (obviously, they were not worn while testing this). But I do guarantee to you the link above sells the Asian version (not Japanese) and the display is 100% in English and selectable in other languages.

It may cost more than the EU versions, but would you spend more money on something you want that is unlimited in volume than the EU version that costs less.

I paid around ~ £150 and am very happy with it.

Thanks - that does seem about the only way to get an S755 without volume limitation; alas that is just too much money for me, that is getting into 8Gb J3 territory and the J3 is a better player for its expandability.

I'm annoyed with Sony. When i first came onto this forum looking for a new player I soon found out about the EU volume limitation, which, as far as i know, is circumventable on just about every other brand of DAP. i probably would have gone for a Sony if it wasn't for this as I loved my old A series - brought out before this stalinist EU law was widely implemented - but its battery died after 2 years.

i decided to get a Clip+ as everyone rightly raved about it, then i got lucky and found an i9 for only £40. I could still do with one more player but haven't decided what it will be, but not the S755 at £150. I think the £119 Sony UK wants is reasonable if it weren't for the above.

I'm thinking maybe a Samsung Q3 when they come out.
