The RDS patch from Lorenzo has been finally merged!
RDS is now available with the latest builds
http://build.rockbox.org/data/rockbox-samsungypr0.zip

With a RDS-compatible theme and in a RDS-compatible country, you can now see the RDS name and RDS text in FM radio mode. Enjoy!

PS: there are various RDS-related issues in the latest rockbox builds (RDS name sometimes takes forever to display, RDS text displays strange characters etc). It's a known issue on several targets, not specific to the R0

RDS works great for me, I use your theme lebellium and had the same situation which you have described on bug tracker. My player turned off while I was listening to radio. Regard to strange noises in version 7 everything is the same like in version 4.

Yes for people using my theme, please download the version 1.60beta2 to avoid the R0 crashing http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...8&postcount=36 and...
...just hope that the dev will fix this bug soon so that I can reintroduce the scrolling for RDS text in the final v1.60

Hello, it's me again.
File names shorter 9 characters(8.3 format) appear in lowercase. In rockbox filebrowser. Like Win9x it is awkward and confusing.

And I am found bugs in ape-decoder.
Shutdown while playing this tracks.
"White noise" on end of tracks.
foobar2000 fine playing these tracks.

I can't test RDS because I do not have a station with RDS.

I confirm your APE files make the R0 crash but also the Clip Zip so it's not specific to the R0 and therefore should not to be mentioned here but on the rockbox website instead.

Look for a similar bug report here http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/index.php?type=2 and if that doesn't exist yet, open a new ticket

The strange noises is the same from first Lorenzo ROM to my last ROM. This simply because it probalby doesn't depends from the ROM.. You can heard it only in some R0, and only with some RB build.
You can try to re-install rockbox, as lebellium suggest some posts ago.

In linux kernel tree there is a module called snd-usb-audio ,can you compile it and add some logic like this :

We are working in USB HOST for months, but with extremely low priority, due lack of interest by the other users.
Our problem are not the modules, but the entire usb otg support. Before add the modules for usb audio, video and storage we need to enable usb host, and it's not easy with the kernel we are using (2.6), considering that Samsung won't release newer kernel source.

If you're only interested by Rockbox, not the Samsung firmware, you should give a try

I also added a question to the FAQ:
I don't find my songs using the Rockbox file browser. Where are they?
On the main menu go to Files>mnt. Then you can see several directories: media0=internal memory, media1="neo-ghost" hidden memory and mmc=microSD.
You can start file browsing at a specific folder. For example if you want to start the browsing in the Music folder of the internal memory, just go to Files>mnt>media0 and make a long press on the "select" button when you are on the "Music" folder. In the context menu select "Start File Browser here". That's it!

FAQ and various ROMS: I think it's time to open a new INDEX with all the available moddings as well as rockbox notes + various ROMs, what do you think?

Hum I'm not sure I really understand what you mean

In the 1st post there are already links to modded firmware 2.30 and 2.51 as well as lightROM 4.4. What other various ROMS are you talking about?

What "available moddings"? What rockbox notes?

It's not like if there were hundreds of ROMs and mods here, it's not the xda-developer forum

If nobody will donate for our work LightROM 4.4 and Modfirm 2.51 are probably the last ROMs released (by me) for free. I'm having serious money problems, and donations are totally absent :-(

NOTE: although I also tested working on files on microSD and then remove it, it may cause data corruption because i don't know about some possible bugs (don't think so anyway), beware!

I have the feeling that my R0 isn't charged in Safe Mode, quite the opposite in facts ...
I'm using the new LightROM.
I wonder if it is related to the usb cable but i don't think so ...

If i connect the R0 to the computer, the Safe Mode is launch. If i disconnect the R0 quickly, then reconnect it, rockbock is launched and there is a charging animation but the R0 restart after ~10 secs in Safe Mode.
So i'm a bit worried because I don't know how to charge it again.
I may be able to flash it again but is it really a solution to this problem ? ~~


However I'm really sorry for your money problems. I considered to make a donation a few weeks ago but unfortunately i'm still a student so the donation only can be very symbolic ...

It must charge, otherwise there is a problem in the cable / connector.
Try to turn on R0 and then the cable, if you see the charging animation / icon then it works. Don't trust battery percentage as soon as rockbox started: it needs 1 minute or more to stabilize

I can't turn on the R0 without putting the cable because the battery is completely discharged (and had been discharged while connected to the PC).
It should be a problem with the cable because this cable is garbage. I hope so ...
I haven't had any problem with another cable and the modfirm 4.3 during the last week ...

This is confirmed, this cable is garbage. I should have thrown it away earlier.
