Rockbox now stable for Fuze v2

Hey all,

Good news for Sansa Fuze v2 owners, Rockbox is now released as stable. Everything is working great, except there is still no USB support. Thanks to Marv for the heads up!

Yeah I know, I just didn't feel it was necessary in the Fuze section, and plus I don't have a Clip or Clip+, but this is also good news for people who do.

Another update, Rockbox 3.7 has been released ! However, I'm not upgrading quite yet....since no themes will work, because it says here that there is an update to the themes.

All the current builds in the last 5 months already used the new WPS syntax. This notice just means 3.6-compatible themes won't work on 3.7.

Ah, I see, well....everything is working perfectly for me now, so there's no reason for me to change anything yet.

I disagree. Start up the Utility today, and it now proclaims these players as stable, and recommends the "stable release" which is 3.7. You should install this, and then keep your eyes open on the "since 4 weeks" page for updates on other things that relate to your specific player, like USB, etc.

If you are running a version newer than r26727 (early June 2010), there is no WPS syntax change for you: http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/SkinBreakingChange

I just installed 3.7 on my Fuze. Seems to be working okay. So far, so good.

I have it now on both Clip+'s, and my V1 Fuze, and it will be installed on my V2 when it gets here in a couple days. The 3 I have here right now all work great with it.
Wow! That image gives me an idea how much better the battery life is on the V2....lol.

I always wonder how accurate that is. Perhaps I listen to my RB's Fuze more than I think I do, lol.

My V1 says 99% 14h 42m, in comparison.

My Fuze v2 says about 20-21hrs at 100% charged, better battery life is a good enough reason to go for the v2 over the v1 IMO.

Yeah, the V1 doesn't do much, if any better than the Clip+'s.

That's quite a difference in battery life.

Yeah, I'm surprised at how much they lie to us sometimes at how the battery life is....14 hours is quite a difference from the advertised 24 hours.

That difference is only in Rockbox. IIRC the cpu is always a full clock speed. When the Rocbox devs have tried to scale it back it gets unstable. I have a V1 Fuze and it gets the same battery life in the OF as the V2.
