Help Error Handling

I was looking around on the web for information about Lua's error handling. It appears there is a try() catch() statement of some kind. Does anyone know if this works with the player? If not, what about this? If we could, I would suggest to every developer that they put their entire program in a try() catch() block, simply so that the player doesn't crash when an error occurs.
