Default Clip+ goes to original firmware menus after charging?

I'm using Rockbox 3.7 on my Clip+ for the first time today, and every time that I charge my Clip+ using a USB cord and an AC Adapter, the original firmware screens load up. Once I unplug the Clip+ from the power, turn it off, then turn it back on, the Rockbox firmware loads up. Is this normal? I would have thought that even when charging, the Rockbox screens would come on instead of the original firmware screens.

It's normal. If you want to listen to it while charging it, just plug it in after it's already in Rockbox.

Oh, okay. I see that there is a reference to that in the manual. I ended up getting confused between MTP mode and the reference to the USB issues. I had originally mistakenly thought that the reference meant that MTP mode couldn't be used with Rockbox and that only MSC mode worked. Thanks for the reply though.

MSC is the mode you want to use.

So, will the Clip+ charge on a external charger when in Rockbox mode? My impression was that lack of USB functionality included charging capability, so I've been booting the OF before charging. Is that necessary?

Thanks, Dave

No USB has nothing to do with charging, thats worked forever since its basically the same as the e200.

I quite often listen to mine in bed with a wall charger plugged into it.
