does anyone know where i can get the firmware 2.0 in english because i do not know how to read korean and i want the memo app.

You need their firmware updater or iriver Plus3 software. You can find links to it here.

thanks, i have downloaded iriver plus3 but when i got to firmware update option it says "network error, please check internet connection" even though my internet is connected fine. is there anyway i can overcome this?

Assuming your internet connection was actually working when you got that error, it may be that iriver's site was offline. Try again at different times, and if it never works then a call to their customer support may be your best bet.
