Where to buy the 43?

As far as I am concerned I will wait till this(Archos 43) is available at major online stores.

i know/believe you that you're unrelated, but i don't think people around here are so desperate to buy it for a premium of 200%. i think they can wait one or two weeks more for a new stock. and btw, they were already available at amazon before. just (pre-)order and you will get one as soon as you're first in line. (ordered my Cowon J3 through amazon.de, and although they say it still out of stock it was delivered last saturday)

I am sure Archos would not like to let go the (initial) demand of Archos 43 and they will soon flood the markets with it.

The 32 has Bluetooth. What it doesn't have is a speaker. Screen is smaller and lower-res than the 43. No Video out through HDMI, but you can through a USB-to-Composite cable. Other than that it'll do everything the 43 will. I'd prefer the larger 43, but at $100 less the 32 looks pretty amazing to me too.

No microSD card is deal breaker for me.
The situation is somewhat simlar to choice between Cowon I9 & J3(I know the difference but as far as microSD is concerned)

The 32's manuel had something about a model having a microSD slot instead of volume buttons, but I haven't heard much about that. I emailed Archos to ask about it a month ago, but never got a reply.

Yeah I am pretty sure that there is no plan to have a version of the 32 with a card slot. I think that the idea would be to have people that want that to get the 43.

^Sometimes there are mistakes in manual for eg. Samsung R0 is reported to have bluetooth at some Samsung website.
The product that is actually available for sale (everywhere AFAIK) does not have microSD slot.

Yeah you're probably right. I was just hoping that it would have SD card expansion. The only way to expand its memory would be to use a flash drive via USB hosting and its a real pain finding a USB host cable that works with the 28/32.

Ok, I guess it was the lack of storage or lack of SD card slot that stopped me.

One thing nice about the android tablets is that if you have a shared folder of music on your local WiFi network you can access and play it all over WiFi. Same with videos and Photos, and any other content you can use from your desktop PC.

That's badass, after i get my J3 i might just get a 32 to use on multiple different stereos in the house without having to move my laptop or buy overly expensive equipment to do it.

There is a "Powersave" option in the WiFi settings. If it is not disabled (default), the range of your WiFi reception will be cut in half. Based on my own informal experience. Otherwise WiFi on my 32 and friends 43 is as good as the WiFi reception on any other device I have, including laptops, a netbook, a couple of iPod Touch, and a Zune HD. The antenna is in the lower right hand corner, and the user manual suggests holding the device there can interfere with WiFi reception.

^ Do not know exact cause strange thing is customer care told the Amazon buyer that it((Archos 32) is media player with internet capability (meaning do not expect it to be full fledged device).
I am more interested in Archos 43 (but I will wait till few members give it a thumbs up).

I'm getting very interested in the Archos 43. The 32 looks great too, and I would buy it right now, if it had expandable memory(or larger storage than 8gb.) Looks like this line of players from Archos isn't suffering from the issues their players have had in the past. I just might have to give them a go, as it is definitely time for me to upgrade.

Didn't know that. I'll have to see if that works for my 28 because the reception has been a bit lousy.
