I bought mine the one single month it was available at Future Shop here in BC Canada. I think it was March of 2009 but maybe it was this year. I'll have to dig out the receipt and check the year on it. Anyways, it's still working flawlessly. I don't use it every single day anymore and I've never let it get rained on. It has gotten sweat condensation on the screen from walking up a long steep a** hill and my coat trapping the moisture in the pocket holding the P3. So far no dead spots that I'm aware of and battery life is still good.

Dude, thanks for making this topic! I bought mine used about 2 weeks ago, and I was starting to get worried that it wouldn't even last me a full year.

I bought mine on August 27, 2009, and I use it daily in the mornings during my commute. I am happy to report no problems so far. I recharge about once a week and don't really play any games on it.

Had mine since about June of 09. I had a little YP-Z5 from Samsung that sounded great but was getting old and finally sprung for an upgrade. About 6 months ago a small section on the right hand side was dead to touch. Now the entire right hand side is dead. This is likely my last product from Samsung. So many units have this same defect that its obviously a design flaw and should be fixed rather or not the device is under warranty or not. Mine is not under warranty and while I like it I'm not about to spend 80 bucks plus shipping to get it repair. I'd rather just invest that 80 dollars in either Archos 32/43 or Perhaps a Cowon J3/D3.
I can't explain how upset I am that my P3 is dying and I feel that soon only a few spots on the touchscreen will work. I may shed a tear that day. |

Hi, elnio here
my P3 was bought on 18th April 2010. It is in a leather case and is used lightly (or I think so) so it is in perfect condition. |

2/27/10 Great condition, the fading Samsung logo on the back is the worst problem with it, which is awesome. |

I ve got mine made in Indonesia written on the back. Is that some kind of explanation to the touch screen problems. Mine doesn't have any problem yet, is only 5 months old.

And my 6 months old P3 is not to be counted yet because I am still waiting for a silicone case to really start using it.

Got mine March 09, top of the touch screen where the shortcut menu is located is dead. Got another friend's P3 who's touch screen is partially dead as well. Really disappointed, since the P2s seem to be working fine still.
On a side note, my buttons on an old iriver H10 just died, after like double the lifespan of my P3. |

Purchased mine on june 2009, still fully working condition. And I still love it, for sound quality rendering and video playback capabilities.

June of '09. In okay condition. After taking it to India, it's been scratched up and gotten a little dusty. Works perfectly fine. Love my P3. By far the best PMP I've owned.

Summer of 2009, it's been about 18 months. Still working without a flaw and the battery life is still excellent. This is after heavy usage and no case protection. Sadly, this may end up being my last PMP, if all the companies are forced out of the market by Apple by the time I am ready for an upgrade. I hope smart phones eventually catch up to this excellent SQ...

Bought mine in... September '09, I believe. Had to get the audio jack repaired after about a month, then November of '10 I had to get the touch screen replaced. Since then, fully functional without problem, definitely the best PMP I've ever had!

been using the P3 for around 1yr+ already, within the warranty period of 1year, have sent it back twice to repair the touchscreen defect, although its working fine now, i am still afraid of the problem resurfacing and im not sure whether would samsung be kind enough to repair it foc since apparently its a design flaw and not user problem..
however if it goes dead , would most likely be looking at a cowon instead

I bought mine in June of 2010 so it's not exactly old. The touchscreen is a little off but I'm not having any other problems. I've taken it on dozens of trips and there isn't a scratch on it.
My Cowon S9 died in less than a year but I expect this to last longer. There haven't been any new devices worth replacing it with. |
