Samsung Q3 UCIs

The new firmware 1.31 adds the UCI support. Q3 UCI are available on kr.samsungmobile.com. Unfortunately only Koreans can download UCI on this website as a Korean SSN (Social Security Number) is required to register and as the SamsungMobile Active X Control for Internet Explorer can only be installed on a Korean computer.
However, everybody can download UCI on http://uci.samsungmobile.com/. But at the time I write this post, there are no Q3 UCI available on this website.

Thanks to my Korean contacts I got 6 Q3 UCI made by Samsung

Some Premium UCI are available on http://kr.samsungmobile.com/service/...do?gubun=YP-Q3
But only people with a KSSN (Korean Social Security Number) and a Korean bank account can buy them.
Anyway nobody would pay 1000 Won (=€0.7 or $0.9) for a simple UCI.
As I was interested in the Colorcon Style UCi ( http://kr.samsungmobile.com/service/...ent_id=2279037 ) I extracted the icons from the preview and edited them with Photoshop.

As a result, you now have almost the same Colorcon Style UCI as on the Samsung website but....for free
Some variants (another template: basic white, wood etc) are also included in this pack.


You can also make your own UCI, i.e. keep these icons but change the template, the background picture or the text. Then you just have to use the Q3 UCI editor on http://uci.samsungmobile.com/index.d...gbr&langCd=ENG and import the icons from the folder "Icons - PNG"

Hi

I'm running windows XP SP3 and IE8.
I have installed the visual C++ 2008 (the one uci.samsung.com pops up).
I have run the emodio addon.

I click on the "send to device" button -> pop-up window appears.
It shows me the model : YP-Q3 ; and my used/total space.

And when I click the download button, the status bar goes from "stand-by" to "send" to "fail" within a second (status bar nearly empty).

My Q3 version is :
VER 1.40 EU MTP
MODEL Q3
DRM JA

What did I mess up?

BTW : UCIs from this thread work perfectly. Thanks for the uploads.

Doesn't work for me either on Win 7 with IE9.

I'll ask Samsung to fix that

I wonder how many people are involved with this same problem but I'm a bit relieved not to be the only one.

Can someone able to download UCI from the samsung UCI STUDIO post his/her system configuration : computer OS, IE version, Q3 firmware

And I really hope the samsung's troubleshooters will show their efficiency pretty quickly on this one.

Very much thanks to you!! I have tried everything until now to change my uci's. With your uploaded UCI Pack it works perfectly! (But is there any possibility to change the letters under the icons, too? Because the UCI files use "their own" texts under the icons and don't support the text settings in the Player's menu).

Hi to all, I'm writing from Italy.
I have had the same problems described above (fail after one second sending to device the uci from uci.samsungmobile.com).
I have tried with different PCs with different versions of Windows (XP, Seven, Starter) and of Internet Explorer (6, 7, 8, 9), the problem is still the same.
Later, I asked to samsung support why, and after many calls from and to samsung, they told me that this website is not intended for italian customers and then it is not working from Italy.
We, here in Italy, must wait until the move the contents onto an Italian server, they told me.

I have the same issue with the Q3 Christmas present (fails the uci load to device after 1 second, but can read the device status ok)

Any update on the fix?

I reported the bug to Samsung and they found the issue on the server. Fix will take a little time as several departments are involved in the operation.
Will probably work again within the following days or weeks

Yes ! It is working properly. Uploading PNG and installing custom theme as well.

It's funny how I cannot find any site where to get UCIs from other users

Well Koreans have the Samsung website where they can download AND upload UCI: http://local.sec.samsung.com/comLoca...&deviceType=Q3
But the issue is that we can't install their fucking Korean ActiveX Control on another language Windows computer. That means I can only download flash-based UCI (R1, P3, M1) from there, for the other models I can't.

And outside Korea, Samsung DAPs and particularly the Q3, are not so popular. Most users don't even know they can download UCI so that may explain it.

No you shouldn't start a section for that but you can share and upload your personal UCIs in attachment in this thread along with a preview picture
