WP7 is in it's infancy. Android has been out for awhile, but Android chatter really didn't start to pick up until after 2.1 came out (N1 release). I think with WP7 hitting the CDMA carriers, as well as the update planned, we should see more chatter.

I'd love to give WP7 a try, unfortunately I'm kinda stuck in a relatively new contract right now, and my carrier is a CDMA carrier and who knows when they'll get any.

If you're on Verizon though, you can price your phone for VZW's trade-in program (My Incredible is currently worth $152). That should soften the blow on a full price handset.

I'm with US Cellular. I'm sure they'll get some WP7 phones, maybe late Q1...it'll be interesting to see what kind of phones they do get. Also, once I'm through with this contract, I will not have to sign another one with them (part of their Belief Project thingy)...and I'll most likely be eligible to change up earlier than the 18 month requirement. Anyhoo, I do like my Desire running Android, so I'll have to wait and see how I feel in a year. In the meantime I like to read these forums and Paul Thurott's WP7 blog to keep up on things.

WP7 isnt officially released in the Netherlands yet and I'm waiting to get one until it gets here. Some months ago I read it should be launched here in April. Most of the annoyances should be cleared out by then and I hope my Omnia 7 will be an awesome product for me.
But for now, I just follow the WP7 news and cant really comment on it since I dont have any first hand experience with it. :'( |

Don't lose hope man. It took 2 years for Android to hit its stride. WP7 launched with comparatively weak hardware and a limited number of platforms/carriers. It just doesn't have that "wow" factor yet. No 4G, and phones are very similar across the board.
Not knocking it, just saying that it's going to take time for it to get popular, and for those results to translate into owners on this board. I don't thikn we had very many vocal Android users here until the last 6 months.

![]() ![]() Anyway, I have been to a Telstra Store, and all the WP7 phones were all broken and/or were just mock-up phones. Seems like the retailers weren't pushing it too hard.

LOL. I had to use the local lingo. I hardly reckon I could have said:
I was rocking over for a Dog's Eye and Dead Horse - with me Slab, thongs boardies and Chesty on for a beaut yak and a fair crack of the ol amber fluid and a bowl of chips - could I now ![]() Google Aussie slang translated: I was coming over for a meat pie with tomato sauce - with me case of full-strength beer, flipflops, board shorts and singlet on for a great chat and a serious swill of beer and a bowl of crisps! hehehe ![]() PS - any probs with our North American friends reading any of my posts - here's a useful reference for them: http://www.koalanet.com.au/australian-slang.html
