Default NES emulator for WP7 created. MS blocking.

Go and lend your voice of support to get MS to change their mind and allow emulators on WP7

Frame-rate might need some optimising though!

I love emulators as much as the next guy but I can't imagine trying to play an NES/SNES game on a touch screen device.

If they can get the onscreen joystick and buttons and the touch/sensitivity right....it can work.
Apparently PACMAN hist the WP7 store today....will be interested to see it's interface/handling implementation.

I run them on my Incredible, and to be honest, the controls made me want to go out and buy a bluetooth gamepad. RPGS and such work fine, for the most part.

A Dutch microsoft employee said on tweakers.net
Quote:

He says in the first one "The emulator is probably because of other reasons denied. It's not that because it's an emulator it's denied, I heard this today from the Marketplace team"
And in the second one something similair "I had contact with the marketplace team. The emulator is not denied because it's an emulator".

So there's still hope.

But, there is a legal marketplace for ROMs. Back in 2006 or 2007, the ESA was given jurisdiction over legacy games, and they set up a way for games to be protected by their publisher.

There are many titles that have been authorized by the ESA as legal for download. There is certain criteria that has to be met, IE, time since last release and permission from the publisher or current rights holder.
