Default iRiver U100
For 3 years I have thought iRiver is dead but it seems they don't want to completely die, at least in Korea.

Here is the new U100 that seems to be quite good for once.

Looks kind of cute, besides the eye cancer inducing colors. Even has volume buttons, gasp! Most current irivers only had some idiotic touch field.

UI looks very nice, but I seriously doubt it's as fast as the video shows.

Last, and least: SRS, really? Are they kidding me? Couldn't they find anything that sounds a bit less awful?

Also like the memory expansion. Although 4GB as a starting point is meh.

SRS WOW, as in Wow, these effects are horrible!
I remember trying it on Windows Media Player 11....lol.

I'm right there with you. this lower part speaks to me, with a thousand voices, it wants me to seperate it from the evil upper half.


despite its uuggelliness and infernal pink finish it comes about 2 years too late.


about iriver and the company's health. i always thought that they are still a big player in korea with a good, although declining, market share. am i being wrong about that? some years ago they had 50% market share in the mp3 player sector. they just completely fucked up globally, with products that just aren't competitive or just crappy.


the UI looks good, but then again it's similar to the K1, iirc.

Iriver has banked on SRS for years. Actually, there are at least two releases, and has been said the second release has been very much improved.

Eh, I'm curious about it now - but the TFT (capacitive) screen is a step backwards for me. I still would like to get my mitts on one, and I just might.
