Some news on the forthcoming WP7 OS updates:
http://traffic.libsyn.com/wpradio/WPR_13.mp3 This links is for the downloadable Mp3 version of the Windows Phone Radio Podcast by Matt Akers (Twitter Skipdeez). Basically - from 34m 5s or thereabouts - they detail a user question on WP7 backups. Obviously Photos, Video and notes are auto backed up be default to your PC via the Zune Client Software for Windows. News fromt Matt is that the software will make a complete backup of your phone to your PC prior to updating to the new OS version. Importantly - not only will this allow MS to rollback updates (similar to Windows Restore) if there is an issue updating - but the software will also allow user rollback to prior OS save points/backups if any performance or curruption etc ensues. I wonder if this means that people can rollback for the purposes of hacking their phones (if a specific later MS update patches a hole). Apart from that - annoyingly the podcast mentions the first 3 killer aspects of WP7 for customers: 1. Zune Pass (Music) 2. Bing Local search 3. Artist Pcis/Bio's/"eye candy" of Zune WP7 interface and PC Client. Grrrr none of this available in AUS without setting up a US live account and bypassing the normal constraints. C'mon MS !!!!
