Or, maybe more generically, how to use the favorites to begin with?
I just got my player loaded up, and started monkeying around with it. It seemed you could add folder, albums, or individual tracks to favorites, so I thought you'd be able to use them as short cuts to particular genres or folders, not just tracks. But when I go into the favorites, it looks like it's just one big list of every track that was in every folder I added. Since I added one of my largest genre folders as a favorite, that kinda defeats the purpose. I tried to delete something from the favorites list, but looks like it actually deleted the track itself. The manual is useless on this and I haven't been able to find anything else on the topic. At the very least, I'd like to reset all my favorites and start over, but would also love to know if there's a way to mark favorites at the genre, artist, or album level, either via folders, or via tags. Would also be great with all that desktop space to allow you to create shortcuts right on the desktop to specific folders, but so far it doesn't seem like that's the case. |

actually, favorites on the x7 is the best i have come across.....you press favorites when you are in a list and then any track you choose will be added to favorites.....when you hit delete in the favorites folder it only deletes the tracks from favorites not from the player itself...very simple and well laid out IMHO

Regardless, my main problem is still that I need to clear my favorites all out, because accidentally added about 200 tracks when I marked a large folder (or genre? Don't remember... my folders generally follow genre/artist/album anyways) as a favorite, thinking it would allow a shortcut to that folder or genre, but instead added each individual track in it. |

I stand corrected. I went back into the Favorites, and was able to use the Delete->All to clear them out, without deleting the files. I'm still not sure how I ended up deleting the actual file the first time I tried that, since I went through Favorites, but must've gotten into a regular folder rather than the Favorites without realizing it.
Still hoping there's a way to add shortcuts or favorites to particular tags and/or folders, rather than just specific tracks, but it doesn't look like it. |
