Hi everyone.
I got the Clip+ just two days ago, and installed Rockbox right away. Everything was working fine, but now I when I tried to use it, some songs were crashing the player. Then I choose the option to build the database (though I only had ~30MB available), but then it crashed again when I tried playing a song. Now when I turn it on, it just says "Loading firmware: File not found", and the original sansa firmware is taking like 20s to boot up (stuck in that sansa/flower animation during this time). What's going on? Thanks everyone. ![]() EDIT: The .rockbox folder is completely empty, and I'm positive I did not delete it. Or are the files invisible on Windows?

You probably installed Rockbox 3.8, and your Clip's memory became corrupted. Run chkdsk on the memory, and install a new revision of Rockbox, not the 3.8 release.

Why can't I reinstall 3.8? Isn't this the stable release? EDIT: Deleted the config.cfg file from .rockbox (yes the files where just hidden...), now I can boot Rockbox again, but it still crashes when I play some songs... I will format it, I guess...

Trust us...the current build seems to work fine, yet some issues appear to exist with 3.8.

Oh, I also deleted the ## folders, I can do this, correct? EDIT: I deleted through Rockbox, not Windows. EDIT 2: There should be a notice somewhere on the Rockbox website mentioning that version 3.8 is unstable. Now I formatted it and have to go through the whole process of FLAC conversions again... EDIT 3: Formatted, installed newest Rockbox revision and copied everything back. It seems to be all right. I'll keep a backup of everything on my HD for a while, to avoid all the trouble if it happens again...

How stable is 3.7.1?
I'd feel better with a stable release instead of a current build (which I'm using right now)...

I ran 3.7.1 all winter long without incident.
