charging/transfer/data cable

I own an E series but thought I was ready to upgrade to an S series walkman. More memory, FM/Voice record..etc. As soon as I looked at one at the local Walmart, the first thing I notice is that Sony has a proprietary cable connection.

What the hell is wrong with you Sony?

The last think I need is ANOTHER cable for my computer to connect a device to! Not to mention a car charger also. The E series walkman (as well as most of the other non-apple MP3 players in my family) use a standard mini or micro USB port. Its pretty much the standard for cell phones too.

As much as I wanted to uprgrade to this S series device, it ain't worth it.

Sometimes I really wonder what these people at Sony are thinking....
