Graham,
The very first thing to do is upgrade your firmware to 1.62.02. I dont know if that will solve the issue, but it is a good start. I have been successful using my Vision M with Windows 7. But the OEM software will not run. Period. What you need to do is copy your data onto the player using the "sync" function on Windows Media Player or just copy and paste your files as if it were a floppy drive or usb drive. That is how I do it. That only leaves me one problem. I still cannot create playlists. I hook up my player to my XP computer to do that. I am guessing that there are some 3rd party programs that are compatible with Win 7 but I havent spent any time investigating. Hope that helps. G |

I would advise leaving the firmware as it is unless you have a Win XP Service Pack 2 with WMP 10 installed computer. The software was not updated for Win7 & most likely will not be. So the ability to rip a CD directly to the player is a function you may no longer have with Win7.

Oh ,yes I'm overworked. As for playlists & Win7 I don't have that OS so, I don't have WMP12. You can use Media Monkey on Win7 or use WMP to make up playlists to load on the player. I don't know what else to tell you other than to do them on the go with the player itself.

Audiobooks4Me - go to the following thread, start at post #6. If you have 64-bit win7, follow the post's instructions. It works. I have win7 x64 on my Acer netbook and my desktop (which I rebuilt in October with new mobo, ram, & win7) and the Creative software works. I believe the procedure is similar for 32-bit except for the file downloaded from Creative. I haven't attempted the 32-bit Vista software.
http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ad.php?t=53337 You can create, edit, delete playlists as well as convert files the same way as in Win XP!

Thanks Delaware. I will give it a try. Maybe I can finally dump my XP machine!
